Somaliland-(Berberanews)-Prof: Ismail Buuba a well known Somali politician and Ex-Minster of Foreign Affairs has accused Somaliland government of taking away the freedom to choose by its citizens whom have faith in one country, one people and one Somalia.
In an exclusive interview with BerberaNews.com-Prof: Buuba expressed that such actions can bring instability not to Somalia alone but to the entire region of the Horn of Africa as well
“I absolutely disagree, in Somaliland there are citizens who believe in unity while others don’t and the elections currently taking place in Mogadishu is based on clans, and representatives from Northern, Central and Southern parts of the country will be participating.” he said.
Prof Buba added “Globally, world countries have gone beyond dictatorship and dividing Somalia is not in the best interest of the Horn of African nations.”
When asked of his view concerning Somaliland government’s recent accusation of Somalia trying to destroy confidence of Somalilanders by seeking and singling out citizens to join in the upcoming presidential elections for Somalia, said, “I think it’s wrong for Somaliland to say our citizens are being hijacked while on the other hand Somaliland speaks well of its democracy and freedom of choice. I believe this sounds a bit contradicting and trust that Somaliland will gain a lot more by allowing its citizens to choose freely.”
