Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer halted supplies to Russia.

Taiwan-(Berberanews)-According to Taiwanese media, the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has stopped supplying Russia due to sanctions imposed over its military campaign in Ukraine.

According to sources from Taiwanese news agency CNA, TSMC has completely stopped supplying Russia and its suppliers after examining the restrictions in order to comply with them.

According to CNA, TSMC has also halted production of Elbrus semiconductors, which were designed in Russia.

Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry declared on February 25 that it would join international economic sanctions against Russia in order to “compel Russia to cease its military aggression against Ukraine.”

The new set of sanctions will make it illegal for Russian companies to buy a variety of high-tech items, including semiconductors, computers, telecommunications, information security equipment, lasers, and sensors.

After the secessionist republics of Donetsk and Lugansk requested aid to protect themselves against attacks by Ukrainian troops, Russia initiated a military action in Ukraine in the early hours of February 24
