Traders in Berbera, have rejected the Dp World tariff which is dated January 1, 2022. The merchants rejected the tariff and said it could not bear the burden, so they stopped importing goods for commercial vessels.
The Somaliland Chamber of Commerce last week issued a statement expressing its displeasure at DP World’s new tariff, which it described as contrary to Article 12 of the Somaliland-DP World agreement, and that the port of Berbera could not be competable with neighboring ports. , if the tariff is increased.
