Somalia: An airplane flips over at the Mogadishu airport

Mogadisho-(Berberanews)-The 36 people on board a plane that crashed and overturned upon landing at the airport in the capital of Somalia were unharmed.

Dramatic footage taken in Mogadishu close to the airport shows a plume of black smoke rising above the crash site.

The plane, a Fokker 50, is upside down in photos taken at the scene after firefighters doused the flames.

It was a domestic flight operated by Jubba Airways that connected the city of Baidoa with the nation’s capital.

According to airport officials who were quoted by state media, both the passengers and the crew were successfully rescued.

It’s unclear what caused the crash just yet.
