Borama – (Berberanewa)-The government of the Republic of Somaliland, has released nearly 60 people recently arrested in Ruqi area of Awdal Region.
Lawmaker Mohamed Abib, who was elected from Awdal region, posted a statement on his social media account about the release of the people saying; “I am very happy that 58 of Ruqi’s detainees have been released this morning.”
Those released from prison have been detained in connection with a riot at a mining site in Ruqi area of Awdal Region, where they have been held for more than a week.
