Kenya-(Berberamews)-President #Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya has backed #RailaOdinga, a former opponent, as a presidential candidate in this year’s elections.
The incumbent, who cannot seek for re-election since he has already served two terms, told a gathering of tens of thousands in Nairobi’s capital that he had no doubt Mr Odinga was the team captain.
The ruling Jubilee party joined a coalition led by Mr Odinga last month.
Following fatal post-election violence, Mr Kenyatta and Mr Odinga proclaimed a truce in 2018.
For decades, the two families have been bitter political foes.
